This tutorial will show you the proper approach for TRCN exam registration, your eligibility, and how to register for the TRCN exam this year without being scammed.

Can I Take the TRCN Examination?

Yes! You are immediately eligible to register for TRCN if you studied education at the university or college level.

To be eligible for TRCN Exam registration, certificate, and license, you must have a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE, PDE, or PDDE) if you studied any Non-Education course at university or have an HND.

Basic Requirements For TRCN Registration 2023

To complete your TRCN exam registration, you must have and deliver the following documents.

School Certificate: a copy of your NCE, Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree certificate.

Teaching Qualification: If you have a school certificate in Education (e.g., NCE, B. Ed, M. Ed), you are already a qualified teacher and do not require any additional teaching qualifications.

If you do not have a teaching qualification (PGDE, PDE, or PDDE), you must provide it along with your Non-Education school certificate (i.e., B.Sc., B.A, M.Sc., M.A, Ph.D.).

Birth Certificate (photocopy).

Certificate of State of Origin (photocopy).

Passport photographs (4 copies).

How To Register For TRCN Examination

Once you have all the above-mentioned documents, proceed with your TRCN exam registration as follows.

1. Visit any TRCN office.

In Nigeria, there is always one official TRCN office in the capital city of each state.

We have compiled a list of every TRCN office in Nigeria, including their location, address, and contact information.

To avoid getting scammed, go to the one closest to you (in your state), and DO NOT consult anyone outside their offices.

2. Registration Request

When you arrive at any TRCN office, inform the officer that you want to register for the TRCN Professional Qualifying Examination (PQE).

You will be given Remita payment instructions to send $3,500 to a “Federal account via Remita.”

DO NOT PAY TO ANY PERSONAL, BUSINESS, OR CORPORATE ACCOUNT!

3. Make your payment.

Go to any bank or computer café and tell them you want to pay for the TRCN exam with Remita.

Banks will do it without hesitation, while internet café operators may require more instruction.

If they do, instruct them to:

  • Visit the Remita Platform at https://login.remita.net/remita/onepage/OAGFCRF/biller.spa.
  • Select “Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria”.
  • Select “Professional Qualifying Examination Application Fee”.
  • Enter the GIFMIS code (get it from the TRCN officer)
  • Input the amount, your name, phone number, and email.
  • Click on SUBMIT.
  • Input their ATM card details.
  • Click on “Make Payment”.

Do not give the Internet café (or anybody else) your ATM card information because your account could be exploited to make additional online payments without your knowledge.

Allow the operator to use their own card details for payment, while you refund the money to them in cash or via transfer.

If you are technically competent, you can make the payment online using your phone or PC by following the identical methods outlined above.

4. Return to the TRCN office

Return to any TRCN office with your proof of payment (teller or Remita receipt) and all registration documents.

5. Complete the registration form

The officer will provide you with the exam registration form to fill out after validating your documents and proof of payment.

There will be a part on the form where you can choose one of the categories from A to D.

Choose from the following interpretations:

  • Category A – if you are a Doctorate degree holder.
  • Category B – if you are a Master’s degree holder.
  • Category C – if you are a Bachelor’s degree or HND holder.
  • Category D – if you are an NCE holder.

Choose ONLY the category in which you have the highest certification.

As an example.

Mrs. Funmilayo holds a Master’s, a Bachelor’s, and an NCE. She can only choose Category B, her highest certification.

After completing the form and submitting your documents, you will obtain your TRCN test permit, which you will need to enter the exam center on the day of the exam.

Get your exam date from the officer and exchange contact information with him/her for any additional questions or information about your exam.
