In two months, the government will launch Cycle 8 of providing funding to youth as part of the Kenya Youth Employment Opportunities Project (KYEOP).
According to Trade Principal Secretary Amb. Johnson Weru, the program aims to help more than 7, 000 adolescents from all throughout the country who can demonstrate they have sound investment ideas.
Weru, the program’s creator, stated that the program’s beneficiaries will get between Sh50,000 and Sh3,000,000 to aid in the establishment of income-generating ventures, providing thousands of unemployed young people with jobs.
The PS revealed that the targeted group consists of four school-leavers who received a grade of D+ and did not continue their education in college or university while addressing at the Gatanga Constituency Industrial Development Centre (CIDC) at Kiunyu Market.

“As long as the applicants meets the requirements and is eligible, the funds will be disbursed without discrimination. One must have a D+ in the KCSE and not have attended college or university, according to the Principal Secretary.
He said that the program will have been launched in less than two months and urged people who match the requirements to apply once the possibilities are given.
“This will be the eighth (8) cycle in which the money is disbursed to all Kenyan youth. We completed cycles one through seven, and the program will continue as the government seeks to provide financial assistance to young people who want to engage in enterprises that generate jobs.
